How much weight will I lose?
At FITSLIM we don’t encourage weight-loss at all! We’re only interested in FAT- loss! The days of the old fashioned slimming clubs focusing on weight alone are coming to an end. Your weight is comprised of many good things like muscle, bone and water as well as fat. If you go onto a severe diet you will lose muscle and water as well as fat. This will give you an instant result on the scales but over the longer term you have reduced your physiological capacity to lose fat and keep it off. Fat takes a long time to store on your body and if you want to remove it and keep it off, you have to do it steadily.
Is there a quicker way to lose fat?
If you are looking for a miracle fat loss system we can tell you that you have more chance of winning the lottery. At least with the lottery, the chance to win exists! Of course plenty of companies will promise instant results but they are just interested in your money. In fact many systems are specifically designed to offer drastic weight loss whilst mindful of the fact that when people stop, they will rapidly regain all the weight and therefore come back for more! (Yo-Yo) There are often emotional reasons why we gain excess levels of fat and unfortunately many people prey on the emotionally vulnerable and offer unsustainable results just for greed. Can I lose my fat by eating healthily?
Yes, but without exercise it will take much longer and you will be far more prone to weight gain when you fall off the wagon. Your body will also lack muscle tone if you don’t exercise. Think of your body as a machine. At what percentage of efficiency are you operating on? When you digest food does your body utilize the nutrients fully, producing healthy stools? Or perhaps you feel bloated and lethargic with a substantial part of each meal passing through you undigested? Exercise greatly improves the efficiency of our bodies and is critical for maintaining homeostatic balance. It can have a profound effect on reversing the aging of internal organs. It releases chemicals into our blood that improves our mental health and general wellbeing. As a species we are not suited to inactivity. If you want to look and feel your best and optimize your health prospects then exercise is critical.
Do I have to do the ZUMBA class?
No. However, Zumba is a great workout that burns lots of calories and improves your fitness. We have included a Zumba class in the price of every FITSLIM class in order to encourage participants to get exercising. Zumba isn’t for everyone so it’s absolutely fine if you just do a part of the class or even skip it altogether as long as you make up for it with some other form of workout.
How difficult are the home workout programmes?
Fitslim has a choice of levels from beginner right through to advanced. Tina will choose a level for you and work with you to get the best results. For those who are relatively new to exercise, the beginner level may be challenging but that’s fine. Listen to your body and don’t overdo it. You also have to be honest with yourself and ensure that you are slightly out of your comfort zone. That’s the place where the biggest gains can be made. It’s very important that you follow the instructions on Tina’s Demo DVD in order to work efficiently and safely.
Do I still pay if I miss a class?
We want you to get the best results and we firmly believe that we offer the best value in the industry. By paying for four weeks in advance you are committing to the class and far more likely to turn up regularly and get those results you’re after! If for any reason you cannot make your regular FITSLIM class then you can select another from our timetable in the same week and attend that instead at no extra cost.
What if I work really hard all week and don’t lose anything?
Normal scales will tell you whether you have lost weight and nothing else. If your weight has stayed the same you could still have lost fat but it won’t show on normal scales if you have managed to gain muscle. Gaining a little muscle is great for your fitness and fatburning and gives you that toned look. FITSLIM’s scale is a cutting edge, body composition analyzer. You can find out how many pounds of fat, muscle and water you carry and even the density of your bones! The other way to track changes in your body beyond a basic scales is to get someone to measure you. If you have worked hard but not lost fat, this means that you have consumed too many calories. Losing fat is about achieving a state of calorific deficit. i.e: Use more calories than you consume. Next week cut back the calories a little, especially on low activity days and see what difference it makes.
Do I have to be able to dance to do ZUMBA?
No. Zumba with Tina has a free flowing structure where you self-interpret the routines and do what you like! The lights are down low and nobody is going to judge you getting your groove on. Everyone is at different levels and what is important is that you are up on your feet being active and enjoying great music. The more effort you put into your moves, whatever they are, will give you greater benefits.
